Syllabus
Till date, most programmers implement High Performance Applications with either C or FORTRAN. However, the Java programming language is drawing much attention from the research community because of its built-in characteristics that make it an attractive possible alternative. This class explores the question as to whether the Java programming language is sufficient for implementing High Performance projects. We will introduce and experiment with various Java Related paradigms that have been proposed. We will also utilize methods, metrics, and benchmark tools that introduce students to the field of computer performance analysis.
