This class introduces students to the field of Audio Signal Processing. We focus on the areas of speech recognition, and the ACORNS language revitalization project in particular. Subject areas include Fourier analysis, digital filters, standard audio formats, compression, and feature extraction. We will discuss the elements needed for the front end to an automatic speech recognition system.
